Preschool Resources
I’m a big believer in play-based preschool. For our first four children, it was done completely at home, and for our fifth, who has special needs, we had the opportunity to use play-based public and private preschool options that closely mirrored what I had done at home with my older kids but didn’t have the time to do with her once I was fully homeschooling four kids. Preschool can be done well at home! We strive to make our home a rich learning environment, full of quality books, open-ended toys that encourage pretend play, and lots of opportunities for outdoor play and exploration. My big kids are all excelling academically with that strong foundation of creativity and imagination.
Formal preschool is not necessary, but if you want to do some great preschool type activities, I have gotten lots of inspiration from No Time for Flashcards, a website full of early learning activities.
And my absolute favorite early education resource is Ivy Kids kits, pictured above, a monthly subscription box themed around a classic children’s book, with all the supplies needed to complete a month’s worth of activities!
